Translate the action and its condition together
A Chinese work instruction should keep each action connected to the condition that triggers it, the responsible role and the record that follows. Translating the instruction as ordinary prose can obscure a hold condition, a restart check or a reference to another controlled document.
Identify the intended readers and whether the document is an assembly instruction, an inspection procedure or a broader quality manual. Those files can share terminology while serving different purposes. Scope the Chinese text and its review around the actual instruction, not a generic promise to translate every production record.
Build a step and responsibility register
Step reference. Preserve the source numbering and distinguish an action from its note, exception or conditional branch. Keep references to drawings, job sheets and component lists beside the relevant step.
Owner and evidence. Record which role performs a check, who reviews it and where the result is recorded, when the source specifies these. Do not invent a signature requirement or convert a translated instruction into a new company procedure.
Revision context. Supply the current instruction, its revision record and any approved Chinese terms. For an update, mark the changed sections and identify whether linked drawings or forms changed as well.

Review status: questions to confirm
Identify the source
Record the approved file revision and the references that belong to it.
Keep links visible
Connect the Chinese text with its source step, identifier and supporting record.
Return open questions
Assign unclear source wording to the technical owner before release.

An archived instruction and Chinese review file
A 2016 project archive retains an English first-off and last-off/final-check procedure and a reviewed Chinese Word translation. The document includes numbered checks, role references, links to job sheets and a revision header. Project instructions in the same archive specify English-to-Chinese work and a Chinese Word return preserving the source format.
The record supports translation of this manufacturing instruction. It is not evidence of a factory audit, training delivery, independent validation of the procedure or customer approval of a production run. Client names and the source procedure are not reproduced here.
The illustration above is a new review register with invented references. It shows how to connect a step, condition and question; it does not prescribe how to inspect or release a product.
Define the handover before the quote
Agree whether you need Chinese-only Word, a bilingual review copy, an open-query sheet or supported editable layout files. Define who resolves technical questions and who authorizes the Chinese instruction for internal use. Language review and the manufacturer’s decision to release a procedure are separate responsibilities.
The published production and quality-system case provides a separate comparison of document scope. Its Spanish-to-Chinese work is related experience; it is not the anonymous English instruction project described here. For the diagram-heavy part of a production set, use the PCB assembly document guide.
Continue through the manufacturing service and the English-to-Chinese route. A quotation brief should include the current revision, linked forms, intended use, required review depth and return files. Special handling or AI restrictions can be specified in that brief.
