Language Quality Assurance语言质量保证

Language Quality Assurance (LQA) is a structured evaluation process in which reviewers score translated or localized content against defined criteria such as accuracy, terminology, grammar, style, and locale suitability. In translation and localization documentation, LQA appears in quality plans, error typologies, scorecards, and final sign-off reports, where it provides a systematic basis for accepting, revising, or rejecting deliverables at the project or account level.

Where this term appears

In translation and localization work, LQA is used after translation and editing, often on a sample of segments or a full deliverable such as an app UI, help article, or marketing asset. Reviewers log defects by severity and category, and the scores may trigger rework or feed vendor performance dashboards.

The mistake that shows up most often

A common error is treating LQA as line-editing or rewriting instead of measuring quality against agreed criteria. Over-editing can distort the translation brief and inflate costs, while vague error categories make scores meaningless; without a clear error typology, teams cannot tell whether issues come from terminology, accuracy, style, or formatting.

Why consistent rendering matters

For creative and consumer content the failure mode is flatness, not inaccuracy — and flatness passes an accuracy check. Terms here also carry technical constraints (reading speed, character budgets) that are part of the brief.

Angel Translation locks terms like this into a project terminology base before expert review begins, so the same source term resolves to the same target term across every document in a submission — and stays consistent in the next revision. See the 8-step AI + expert workflow.
